SASSAFRAS SNAKE WALKING - RENAISSANCE STICK

This is a ceremonial - Renaissance walking stick.

The wood is sassafras and had a vine that had grown around it,

creating a twist in the growth of the tree.

Mother Nature did her work, then I add my touch.

I hand carved the spirals clean, carved out the snake head and rattle.

I hand carved notches the length of this piece to give it the appearance of a tree trunk.

I added glass beads for the eyes, applied 6 coats of polyurethane

and added a rubber tip on the bottom.

The height is 6 foot 4 inches. The weight is 7 pounds.
